In Tanzania, children with albinism have long been targeted by human poachers and witchdoctors because of unfounded beliefs that their body parts can bring material wealth. Coupled with this violence and superstition, many people with albinism die young from aggressive skin cancers with little access to treatment.
But in Arusha, there is a sanctuary for these children. From her two-bedroom apartment, Sister Martha Mganga provides a safe home, health education, and community for hundreds of children with albinism. As she grows older, one question hangs over everything she has built: what will happen to the children when she is no longer there?
This documentary follows Sister Martha as she travels across Tanzania, inviting strangers and potential mentors to attend a talent show her children are performing in at their elementary school.
